.dance.

Dance is my life. It has molded me into the person I am today. I am sad that our season has come to an end, but I am forever grateful for the experience I had with this year's group. Ya it was different. It always is. That's why I love dance. You never know what kind of rehearsal/performance you are going to have.

I want to publicly express gratitude for all those who came to support the company in our concert. I am amazed at the wonderful people in my life who come to support me. It blows me away. I've never felt such love and support from so many family members and friends. Thanks all!

Something that made this year so special was dancing
with my best friend. She is my sister and I don't know
what I would do without her. She made that 30 minute drive
to dance each week worth it. Love her.

These are just a few of the amazing people
who came to support me tonight.
I love them all.

This concert was extra special to me this
year because I got to dance with my
beautiful sister. She is my rock and
dancing with her is an honor.

I woke up the next morning to these beauties.
Do they hurt? Oh yes.
Are the ugly? Of course.
Was it worth it? Totes.

.god.is.good.

I know you have all seen bunches of posts on Facebook about a historical evening the Pinnock family witnessed last night but I just have to blog about it. Without knowing, cousins, Josh and Stephen put their mission papers in on the same day. We had planned on watching them open their calls on March 6th since that was the day we expected their calls to come....however....they didn't arrive. Josh and Stephen, being the amazing boys they are, didn't mind one bit. Stephen would tell me, "It's okay! I've been called and it will come eventually. That's all that matters. I'm not worried one bit!" What a guy! March 7th comes around and I receive a text from my mom: "It came!!" And as luck would have it, Josh's came too. Welp...saddle up! Time for lives to change in just a sentence or two!

We all gathered at my Uncle Jon and Aunt Laura's house for this moment.  A few minutes before they opened their calls I told Jon that they had to go to the same country...they just had to. Not the same mission...but we were hoping at least the same country. In past conversations our family had talked about predictions as to where we thought Stephen would go. My mom was convinced he was going to the Philippines. I thought either New York or Italy. Jess thought Italy...only because she WANTED him to go there (she is our little Italian). We gathered around these two boys (okay men...) and anticipated to hear the assignment of where they were to serve the Lord for the next 2 years. Stephen, being the oldest of the 2, went first.

"Dear Elder Pinnock,
You have been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the ITALY, MILAN mission!!"

I couldn't believe what I had just witnessed. Is my little brother seriously going to his DREAM MISSION!? Is he going where I predicted?! Is he even old enough to do this?!

After a lot of cheers, shouts and tears...it was Josh's turn. We again...anticipated.

"Dear Elder Pinnock,
You have been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the ITALY, MILAN mission!!"

Again...even louder cheers, shouts and tears! I thought he was joking, but Josh put his hand to his mouth and immediately started sobbing. This was no joke. This was real. This was happening. This was amazing.

The 2 elders embraced in a long, much needed, hug. They just held each other. Laughed. Cried. Hugged. These 2 brothers from 2 mothers have been called to 1 mission. The Italy, Milan mission. Departing on the SAME day, July 24, 2013.

God is good. He is real....and well...funny.

I still can't believe this moment happened. I can't believe that my little brother and his side kick of 18 years are old enough to go on missions....let alone, the same mission! Good speed Elders Pinnock!

My Aunt Laura asked me to make a video of this moment and so here it is!

.olympus.titans.

For those of you who didn't know, Olympus High School is 60 years old and is being rebuilt this year. This is a little tender subject for me since I had so many amazing memories in that school. Basketball is huge deal at Olympus since the team is always amazing. This particular basketball game was a big deal because it was the last home game at the old high school and it was against our rival team...SKYLINE. I was so happy that Trent and I were able to make it to the game. Of course...Olympus won. I have a lot of pride in this school so I was stoked. I was also able to run into some old friends there so that was a bonus. GO TITANS!

Ran into this beautiful girl at half time! We were SBO's and Vicki Belnap survivors together. We were both a little overwhelmed after not seeing each other in 93 years!

My date to this epic game!

I love this little goober....too much.

GO TITANS.

.2.15.13.

This was a Valentine's to remember. I am usually one of those haters on Valentine's Day but I couldn't have loved this year more. Since I had dance company on Valentine's Day, Trent and I celebrated on the 15th. I had no idea what he had planned up his sleeve so it was a lot more exciting since I LOVE surprises.
We got to his house and had a candlelit dinner set up. He made some of his favorite dishes. He also had flowers and my favorite candy (Reese's) for me!

He then told me he had a gift for me and pulls out his guitar. He wrote me a song that may have brought me to tears.

He was sweet enough to go to the Olympus basketball game since I REALLY wanted to go. Another post to come about this game!

He was sweet enough to go to the Olympus basketball game since I REALLY wanted to go. After the game we went to Sub Zero for some ice cream. This place is legit! They pour your flavor of ice cream in liquid form in a bowl and then spray it with liquid nitrogen to freeze it. It was so yummy! Coffee ice cream for me please!

All I will say is that this year's Valentine's was one to remember. Than you Trent for making it so special!

.best.cousin.

I am so excited and proud to announce that my best cousin and friend is going on a mission!!

"Dear Sister Pinnock,
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Argentina, Bahia Blanca Mission!!! Report to the MTC June 19, 2013"

Words cannot describe how proud I am of my cousin Sarah! We have been best cousins since the day she was born. She was my go-to growing. If Sarah couldn't play the day....I was doomed! She was the one who lifted me up when I was down. She did that a lot. I'm older than her and yet, she comforted me. She is literally my best friend and I couldn't be more excited for her!

Watch out Argentina! Sarah P. is coming to dominate that mission!!!

I love this girl so much!

.that.moment.

That moment when it hits you (really hard) that your little brother will be leaving for a mission this year and all of the sudden you think of how hard that will be. You realize how amazing he is and how much you are really going to miss him. You realize how close you really are with him and how much you really rely on his company and jokes. You realize that when he was born, a best friend was born. You realize that you may or may not be there for his farewell (India). You realize that he may or may not miss out on big things in your life that you want him there for so badly. You realize that he is your little buddy who will always have your back no matter what. I am proud to be his sister. I am proud to call him my best friend. I am proud of him.

.BFF.dance.

How lucky am I to be able to dance with my best friend?
Pretty darn lucky.
I really don't think I've laughed that hard in a while.
Aub's favorite thing to do in life is to laugh.
Not only is she good at laughing but she is also good at making people laugh.
I mean really... some of the things she says...HILAR!
So ya. I get to dance with my BFF again and boy does it feel good!

p.s. Megan (teacher) put Aub and I together as partners for this one part of the dance...what was she thinking?!...Guess she loves us!

.finally.

I started dancing again tonight.
And boy did it feel good.
Being with some of the most incredible girls.
Doing what I have been doing since age 3.
Laughing my head off.
Bruising up my feet and knees.
Getting those calluses back.
Feeling a sort of happiness I haven't felt in a while.
Being free to laugh, dance and be happy without anyone stopping me.
Yep...It was a good feeling.
Thursdays will be a wonderful day for me.

...

K wow...
It's been too long since my last blog post.
My apologies to those who read my blog.
So much has been going on.
Here are some quicky updates...

1. I am in the process of selling my contract here at Village and to be honest....I really don't like it. I hate the fact that I have to pack up and move. Worst part is not being able to live with Aubrey and my other amazing roommates anymore. I am excited to start classes at BYU and get into my major...moving is just hard right now.

2. I've spent a lot of time in Salt Lake over the last week. My sweet grandfather is old and in need of love. I will blog about that later.

3. I love doing Ultimate Harmony with Clayton. I love singing Christmas songs and being with good friends.

4. My best friends, Aub Jo, is the best.

5. I auditioned for the Nauvoo young performing mission. More updates on that and a neat story in a later blog post.

6. Christmas is coming and I couldn't be happier. I love the feeling I get around this time of year. Aub and I go all out, so be prepared for some rad pictures.

Yep...That's all I can think of right now. More posts to come!!

This. Is. Halloween.

Halloween is never really my favorite holiday.
Ya, I loved it when I was little.
Getting all dressed up.
Trick or treating.
Eating candy until my belly ached.
Parties at school.
It was all a dream for me.
For a few years, I was not a fan.
I could do without the holiday.
But ever since I moved down to Orem,
my feelings of Halloween have softened.
I love dressing up with my roommates and making my own costume.
Makes me feel a little creative.
Happy Halloween everyone!

I can't get over how lucky I am to have such amazing roommates.
 I love them to death.

Blessed...

It's days like today where I really had to "keep calm and carry on".
Work was a little up and down.
I wanted to go home the second I clocked in.
I wanted to go back to bed.
I just wanted to relax.
My shift was coming to an end and I found myself shutting down.
Physically and emotionally.
I wanted to be done.
I was praying for some sort of peace or maybe a miracle of some sort.
After counting down my till in the back, I walked out to the front to clock out and there was a surprise for me.
One of my best friends.
Trent.
He knew I was struggling today and he came to take me to Cafe Rio.
That was all.
Cafe Rio.
Then we went to Best In Music to play guitars and pianos.
It was a short visit but it was all I needed.
I came home to roomies Aubrey and Macy.
We sat and talked.
Laughed.
Watched Miss Congeniality and admired the actress Sandra Bullock.
8:30....I got tired.
What?
Just what I needed.
After a quick phone call with my mummy and a sweet good night from her I am off to bed.
This day started out a little slow.
I wanted it to end at 8 AM.
But after support from friends and family,
I am a happy camper.
I loved today.
Bring it on tomorrow.

9/12/12...

September 12, 2012 has been a day that I have been looking forward to for a couple of years.
It's kind of hard to put into words.
All I can really say is that I am one happy girl to have her best friend home from Romania.
2 years have come and gone...and things haven't changed one bit.

(*The picture on the far left was taken at the last dance concert of mine that he came to before his mission....the one of the top right was taken right before he got set apart...the one of the bottom right was taken after he got released. :)*)

Obama has a last name??

Sometimes it's 9:30 in the PM and all you want to do is go to bed.
So you start getting ready for bed and then your roommate comes in your room wanting to watch Hunger Games.
So you bag going to bed, grab your blanket and pillow and jump onto the couch to enjoy your favorite movie with your roomie Melissa.
Then Brady Ashby calls wanting to play games.
Psh....too busy watching the best movie ever!
So some amigos come over and you watch the best movie ever...together!

Then your other roommate, Paige, gets home.
You log onto the FB and find that her status makes you laugh.... A LOT.
Like....to the point where you can't breathe and it makes your eyes leak.
Then PhotoBooth is pulled up and you start taking pictures together.
Again....
You laugh.. A LOT.
And your eyes leak.

It's times like these where I am super happy that I chose not to go to bed and stay up with my roommates.
I know without a doubt that it's going to be an amazing year with these girls.
I'm so lucky to be living with 5 other amazing girls.

Numero Quatro en NYC

What a day! Man, I am just falling in love with this city.
I can see why Jess and Jake are loving it here and never want to come home.
I told them that I would be okay if they chose to stay here for the next few years.
Then I get to visit more!

Let's see...
Woke up. To the Hurley dog right by my face.
He is a child.
Who I love and adore.
Jess and I headed to Union Square.
This is probably my favorite part of the city.
So open and clean and friendly!

We started out by going to Forever 21...
What's that?
Shopping?
For those of you who know me...I HATE shopping.
Ya. I'm a female of this world who dislikes that activity.
BUT...I was looking for some new shoes.
Forever 21 didn't have the ones I wanted.
BUT...Jess found some heels that made her a whole inch taller than me!
She had to embrace that short period of time.
For it will be the ONLY time she is ever taller than me.
Off to DSW.
Failure.

Annie got a little tired...shopping does that to me.
So Jess and I headed over to Barnes and Noble.
Her and Jake do this all the time.
Grab a drink of Starbucks....Vanilla Frap for me!
Grab a book....Hunger Games for me!
Find a spot....the floor for us!
And read!

After regaining our energy we were out!
We stopped by this market called Dean and Deluca.
A-MAZING!
We sampled some cheese and lots and lots of soup.
People were very generous.

We went into H&M.
Last pair of shoes in the whole store? MY size? $10?....okay!
Last flanel shirt/hoodie in the whole store? MY size? $10?....OKAY!!!
A total that would have come to $46 came down to $20....man I'm good!

Done with shopping.
We found a stand that sold sun glasses.
$5? Okay!
I bought me and Jess some poser specs!

Off we were for more adventures!
I was challenged to find the cheapest street vendor item.
"Let It Snow" wooden Christmas decoration: $1.

I needed some gluten.
Ya....Dunkin Donuts....HELLO!
Hopped onto the subway [p.s....i LOVE the subway]

Met up with Jakie for "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
We get into the theater and we are guided to our seats.
We were led to the box seats.
Second row.
Umm....keep in mind...these tickets were $30 a piece.
Box seats are usually about $150-200.
Ya....we  were stoked!

I was very impressed by the show.
Nick Jonas was the lead.
Loved him.
Loved the whole night!

Came home to the Hurls.
He gives the warmest of welcomes!
With a little tinkle here and there :)

Jess made dinner.
A-MAZING...as always.

Jess and I watched some Friends together to end the night.
Couldn't have asked for a better day with my 2 favorite people!

Adios peeps!

Disney On Ice Take 3!

I have Disney Entertainment auditions in t-minus 18 days....
What better way to get excited for the magic than go to Disney on Ice: Toy Story 3?!
This is me and Aubrey's THIRD time going and it was just as magical as the first time.
We wrote "ANDY" on the bottom of one of our cowboy boots :)
Hey! You're never too old too go to such a magical event!

What is a magical event without some food to start out with?
I received notice from Aubrey the other day that she had never been to TGI Friday's.
WHAT?!?!
TGI's is my all time favorite restaurant!
Trent's family and mine would always go there growing up.
We headed over to TGI's.
After some debating from Aubrey on what to get, we were ready to order.
Linda was our waitress.
She is awesome!
She called Aubrey, "Love".
We loved Linda.
She got a good tip :)

We drove out to Energy Solution's Arena.
Blasting music and jamming was a must.
We got to our seats. We were in the upper bowl to start out with.
At intermission we were able to snag some seats on the lower bowl.
They were awesome!
Trent went out to "make a phone call"
Came back and threw 2 Bullseye stuffed animals at us.
Presents!
He is such a good friend!
We held them on our laps and enjoyed the second half of Toy Story 3 on ice!
I loved acting like a child and saying "BOOOOO" when Lotso came out!
Don't worry....I wasn't the only one in the arena.

Ahhh the magic of Disney.
Such a memorable night.
I will never get sick of Disney on Ice.
Thank you Trent for providing the tickets!
Thank you Linda for serving us amazing food!
Thank you Aubrey for wearing your Woody backpack and making us giggle!
and.....thank you Walt Disney for providing the magic!

Now get to me Orlando!!

Pathetic...

Aubrey and I live pathetic lives sometimes.
Lately it has been very fun and exciting.
But sometimes we have moments that are just down right pathetic.

Last night was one of those nights.
Aub and I were...well....STARVING.
Nothing we ate satisfied our poor tummies.
We were watching Once Upon A Time.
Neither of us could focus on the show.
Aubrey turns to me and says,
"Our stomachs are bottomless....just like the chips and salsa at Chili's"
All I can respond with is,
"Wanna go to Chili's?"
"Ya.." (Aubrey)
We didn't even hesitate.
Grabbed the keys and we were out.

We had bottomless chips and salsa
then 2 bites of our entrees.
LEFTOVERS!

So ya...
We love Chili's.
We live pathetic lives.
But hey!
We sure are fun!

Uke life away...

For Christmas, Aubrey got me a Ukulele.
I have 3 cousins that play so we like to jam together whenever I'm in town.
Aub granted me my secret wish.
A uke!
Mine was defected...so she called in and asked for exchange for a new one.
They said, "Oh just keep that one! We'll send you another one for free!"
FREE??? Okay!
We ended up getting mine fixed.
So what was once just one uke...turned into 2!
Aubrey and I have decided to dedicate Friday's to our Uke's.
Zooey and
Joseph Gordon.
After class, we had some time to kill before heading up to Salt Lake.
Why not uke life away for the time being?
It was a sunny day and it was warm!!
We took my laptop outside along with our ukes and sat down on the sidewalk and played.
We made friends and people passed by.
I love Friday's now.
Uke time with Aubs and Synergy!
Thanks for making my Friday afternoon so much fun Aubbie!

Although the night ended a little rough for me,
I have learned to rely on the Savior when times get hard.

Chili's...and...WINNING!

After a day of studying for a test,
I needed a break.
Scooter (Aubrey's Best Cousin Friend) was studying with me and we got a little distracted.
SNL skits are LEGIT!
IRONIC when you both laugh at the same jokes.
3 of my friends from a class last semester and I had made plans to go out to dinner tonight.
I invited Scott to come.
I thought Aubrey had to go to a Relief Society meeting tonight and I was bummed that she wouldn't be able to come.
Because stuff like this isn't fun unless Aub comes!
She got home from class and we told her we were going to Chili's for dinner.
Turns out, she didn't have to go to the meeting....so she came!!
The 6 of us met at Chili's.
Aubrey, me, Scooter, Jake, Matt and Jen.
2 for $20?
Okay!
We overloaded on appetizers which made it difficult to dig into our entrees.
LEFT OVERS!!
The waiter came over asking us if we were interested in dessert.
My reaction?
(Pointing at Aubrey)..."It's her birthday today!"
He didn't buy it.
BUT.
He gave her an ice cream sundae anyways!

We said farewell to our friends and rushed home.
Sweats were on in a jiffy.
The TV was turned on.
BACHELOR TIME!!!
We hate Courtney.
She is stupid.
"WINNING!" is the only word she knows.

Scooter was a trooper to sit through an hour and a half of such a show!
Good man.
Surprise visit by Paul ad Troy!
They joined us.
Such manly men!
Bachelor haters....back off!

Ya....it was a really good day!
Full of blessings, studying, SNL, Chili's, good looking waiters and Bachelor drama.
Good night.
Sleep tight.

Concert of angels...

Today was an incredible day.
After a lot of frustration, KSL ads, phone calls and texts,
Trent, Aubrey and I were able to get tickets to the Parachute concert.
Parachute is one of Trent's favorite bands.
He was stoked.
Tessa Barton and her band were opening for them.
Aubrey and I were stoked.
It was the best of both worlds.

Parachute was awesome!
I recognized a few of their songs.
They know how to put on a show!

Now rewinding to the pre-show.
I love watching Tessa perform.
Ever since her sweet sister Sophie passed away, I see so much of Sophie through Tessa.
I used to perform with Sophie in a singing and dancing group and I saw so much passion in her when she performed.
That passion shows through Tessa now.

"I want you to think of the most beautiful girl. She is tall. Has blonde hair and has an amazing voice...she is my sister Sophie Rose."
-Tessa Barton

Tessa performed a number called, "Walk With Me"
This is a song that her and Soph wrote together.
In The Venue is a loud joint but throughout this particular song, the audience was dead silent.
We all stood and listened to Tess perform this song.
It was Tessa.
Her guitar.
And Sophie's sweet spirit.
All on one single stage.
The power and spirit in the room was overwhelming.

This is a video that Tessa and her brothers made for Sophie on her birthday.
I've watched it 3 different times.
All 3 times of watching it have led me to tears.
Tessa is so strong.
Chas is so strong.
Luke is so strong.
The whole Barton family is so strong.

Keep singing through Tessa Sophie....
We all love hearing both of you sing.
